Talks and lectures
Josiah Wedgwood was a fascinating individual. A scientist, artist, entrepreneur and social reformer he was one of the most important figures of his age.
His family were equally remarkable. For example, his son Tom is known as the ‘Father of English photography’ for his attempts to fix photographic images a century before Fox Talbot, and of course we can’t forget Josiah’s grandson Charles Darwin.
The Wedgwood Museum collections are some of the most interesting in the country. They reflect not only the fascinating history of Josiah Wedgwood and his family but also the objects of great beauty made by the Wedgwood company throughout its history.
