These dishes were used by Josiah Wedgwood and his scientific friends for their experiments. Made of cream coloured earthenware, these are handmade, slab-built trays with a small flange on one corner, projecting inside, covered with clear, honey coloured glaze. The trays were used for mineralogical specimens and also as crystallising dishes.
