    John Dermer - Maker

    Twentieth century Australian studio potter who had a residency at Wedgwood in the 1970s. Dermer is a follower of Leach/Hamada and his work explores the creative possibilities of both terra sigillata surface decoration and saltglazing. Gained a Diploma in Art and Design, majoring in pottery, at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. An associate of Michael Dillon, a fellow Australian potter,who became Chief Modeller at the Wedgwood Design Studios during the late twentieth century,and had modelled the portrait of Princess Diana.
