The Wedgwood Museum's collections include not only pieces of Wedgwood but also items made by Wedgwood's subsidiary firms, both before and after their amalgamation into the Wedgwood Group. This Mason's Ironstone Christmas decoration is decorated with the Christmas Village pattern. Christmas Village was designed by Barbara Marsten and Valentin Mandrajji of Marsten Design, and was inspired by European and American folk art. Initially designed for use as a festive giftware pattern in 1984 on 'Gadroon' shaped tableware. A full range of giftware and cookware was subsequently released. Six simple Christmas ornaments in the pattern were introduced in 1994. This bell-shaped ornament was accompanied by pieces in the shape of a stocking, house, star, Christmas tree and disc.
