The Symmetry range was the first introduced by Wedgwood that made use of computer-aided manufacture – or CAM. Introduced in 1988 the range included cylinder vases, cylinder boxes, round vase, classical vase and fountain vases, at launch the price range was from £46.00 to £106.00. Twelve pieces made up the range, available in white jasper body which was then dipped pale blue then machine cut pattern applied to exterior, or available in black jasper body with a machine cut pattern applied.

Exterior decoration applied to this vase consists of a pale blue dip, then small diamonds shapes have been machine cut into exterior around the vases circumference. This large cylinder vase at launch in 1988 would have retailed at £86.00. Precision cutting underlines how modern production methods work extremely well with timeless traditional bodies.
