Business associates

The success of the Wedgwood company was due in part to the many successful business partnership struck up by Josiah Wedgwood I and his successors. This chapters details some of these business associates, including Thomas Whieldon, James Brindley and Thomas Byerley. Josiah I began his long tradition of experimentation during his partnership with Whieldon, whilst his relationship with the great engineer Brindley helped ensure the Wedgwood factory was able to maximise its location on the canal network. Byerley was Josiah's most trusted senior manager, who had responsibility for much of the factory and London showroom business.
