Factory workers

The long term success of Wedgwood owes much to the innovation of the founder and successive company heads, the successful partnerships with astute business associates, and the engagement of brilliant artists and designers. However, it is the skills, craftsmanship and dedication of the ordinary men and women employed by the firm for almost 250 years that have been the foundation of the company's success. The Wedgwood Museum has a remarkable collection of records relating to its employees, including a photographic record of most workers in the late 19th Century.
