John Flaxman snr (1726-95)
Modeller and maker of plaster casts. He was supplying casts to Josiah Wedgwood as early as 1770, and notable plaster models which he sent to the factory included 'A pair of vases one with a Satyr and the other with a Triton Handle' (the models for the so-called 'Wine and Water' ewers).
