Kisfalud Sigismund de Strobl (1884-1975)

Hungarian portrait sculptor, who studied at Budapest Royal Academy, and in Vienna, Paris and Italy. In 1937 he modelled a bust of Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Maria (Queen Elizabeth II), which was produced in Black Basalt and matt white glazed earthenware (Moonstone). This was re-issued in a limited edition during the Queen's Silver Jubilee year, 1977.
