Joachim Smith (fl 1759-1803)
Smith was amongst the earliest of the modellers to produce portraits for Wedgwood to copy. He is known chiefly for his work as a modeller and portraits by him were exhibited at the Society of Arts between 1760 and 1783. Portraits reproduced by Wedgwood and modelled originally by Smith include Josiah Wedgwood himself, his partner, Thomas Bentley and Sir William Hamilton.
