Wedgwood's continuing traditions
Traditional jasper, Josiah's most outstanding contribution to ceramics in the 18th century, fell from favour after his death. However, it was revived periodically and adapted to suit the taste of the day. His most remarkable achievement, the Portland Vase, was re-created in several guises over the century and continues as the company's symbol to the present day.
