Cecily Stella Wedgwood (1905-95)

The daughter of Francis Hamilton ( 'Major Frank') Wedgwood, and sister of Tom Wedgwood, she was extremely artistic, and created a number of patterns for the Wedgwood factory. Her free-handpainted work was especially marked with a painted five-pointed star and the initials CW. Her bone china designs tend to be bold, and made extensive use of strong colours and platinum lustre.
