Like everyone at the Wedgwood Museum and our many friends and supporters, we feel sure you too will be dismayed at the recent court decision not to find that the museum’s collections are held in trust and so can be made available to make good the shortfall in the Wedgwood company pension scheme.
The court case came as a result of new pension legislation enacted several months before the demise of Waterford Wedgwood in January 2009 whose collapse with large debts rendered it unable to fund its pension plan deficit.
