Volunteer opportunities

Volunteering is a really special way that you can help the Wedgwood Museum. Our volunteers are part of the team - we couldn't do all that we do without them.

If you like working with people and beautiful and fascinating objects then volunteering could be for you. So many different things go on in a museum - you'd be surprised how the skills you have could help us. Volunteers also gain a privileged insight into the workings of a museum - perfect if you are contemplating a career in the sector.

As a volunteer at the Wedgwood Museum you can not only have a lot of fun - you can also achieve personal goals. Just ask Shelley Whitney. Shelley recently left us for full-time employment but first she won the 2008 Adult Learner's Week MLA West Midlands Special Individual Adult Learner's Award. We're very proud of Shelley - and all our volunteers past, present and future.

Volunteer opportunities currently exist across all the museum's departments -

  • Guiding and interpretation
  • Visitor Reception
  • Hospitality
  • Education & Workshops
  • Working with objects / Archives
  • Administration
  • Events / Exhibitions

If you are interested in helping in any of these following areas please do get in touch. We'd love to welcome you to our team.
