The Wedgwood Visitor Centre provides an opportunity to see how it is done at close quarters, and meet and talk to Wedgwood's skilled craftspeople.
In the centre's theatre you can view a film on the history of the Wedgwood firm while in the craft demonstration area you will be able to watch the work of hand-painters, ornamenters, master potters, figurine painters, jewellery makers and more. Many of these skills are traditional ones that have remained unchanged from the days of Josiah Wedgwood himself.
What's more - you can even have a go yourself. You can throw your own pot, paint plates or china flowers - letting you create your own, very personal, souvenirs of the day. These can be fired and sent to your home address.
